WHSEQ
Safety is deeply embedded in how we run our sites, how we think ahead, and how we build. It is not just a priority, it’s a core value that underpins every aspect of our civil infrastructure work.

Committed to high standards
We are proud members of key industry associations like the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) and the Institute of Civil Infrastructure (ICI), demonstrating our commitment to national standards and professional development. These affiliations reflect our dedication to best practices and keeping up with evolving building codes. By aligning with these organizations, we ensure our operations incorporate the latest industry insights and legislative updates.
Environment controls are active
Co-Infra’s environmental controls are designed around not just compliance, but meeting client-driven KPIs. We think ahead to reduce risk rather than responding when it’s too late, embracing technology to enhance data collection, reading and reporting. Examples include implementing automated water flocking systems which allow greater accuracy, complence and effciency in addition to 24/7 water dispersion.
Quality is systemised, not standardised
We work under an ISO9001 Quality Management System and every Co-Infra project has its own QA structure, targets and documentation path. This is supported through our cloud-based customisable software, Laminar Pro, an integrated system that enables us to streamline all quality, workplace health and safety processes.
Safety with accountability built in
Safety starts with a robust methodology that doesn’t just plan to mitigate risks but actively addresses approaches and behaviour with structure and accountability. We wanted to do something different. As part of our system we utilise an external WHSEQ Manager with strong practical experience to audit our sites weekly. This keeps our safety fresh and impersonal, and our team accountable andhonest.
Visibility, circuits and controls that work
We foster open communication across all levels of our workforce, encouraging a ‘speak up’ culture where everyone is empowered to identify issues and contribute to continuous improvement. Through regular training, toolbox talks, and leadership engagement, we reinforce the message that safety is everyone’s responsibility. We actively ensure that every relevant team member is responsible for understanding each process and is a critical part of helping to shape and maintain them.
A culture that solves, not blames
We train and empower teams to workshop WHSEQ challenges, not avoid them. Whether it’s developing bespoke technical solutions or staging work-around site constraints, our people are problem-solvers, trained to recognise hazards, respond decisively, and uphold rigorous safety protocols. For us, safety is a team effort and our system supports team members through mediums such as team workshopping, and toolbox talks. It’s why many of our projects are delivered with zero contractor variations, no safety incidents and full on-time regulatory sign-off.

Compliance
and Confidence
Our systems are visible, practical and owned by every crew member from day one. How do we do this? By adhering to the following 6principles that collectively ensure WHSEQ best practice, aligned with our commitment to safe, high-quality delivery.
With ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification across our civil infrastructure operations, we integrate health, safety, environmental and quality management into our project delivery from day one, with project-specific, customised systems designed to anticipate risk, enable transparency and ensure compliance without compromising performance.
